5 Things You Never Knew About Actor Brendan Fraser

brendan fraser

Brendan Fraser is an American actor who has a long list of iconic credits. Film geeks fell in love with him in the 90s, when he starred in “Dogfight,” “The Mummy,” and “George of the Jungle.”

After his career exploded in the early 2000s, Brendan Fraser was out of Hollywood’s limelight for a bit. He worked on lesser known films and television series for years but recently returned to the public eye with his Academy-award winning role in “The Whale.”

His return to the screen reminded audiences just why we fell in love with this actor in the first place! Now that he’s back on our minds, here are a few things you never knew about the very talented Brendan Fraser.

1. His first on-screen role ever was in “America’s Most Wanted.”

Don’t worry, Brendan wasn’t in trouble! “America’s Most Wanted” was a true crime show that often included reenactments of criminal events. Brendan appeared in an episode in 1988, which made “America’s Most Wanted” his acting debut!

2. He has done a lot of his own stunts.

His role in “The Mummy” film series included some exciting adventures, and Brendan performed quite a few of these stunts himself! However, he didn’t make it through the filming without a few scrapes and bruises. In fact, the actor cracked one of his ribs during the making of “The Mummy 2.”

The least we can do is appreciate his performance, given the scars he certainly has from executing it!

3. He doesn’t think he’s very interesting.

Besides being an actor, Brendan describes himself as fairly boring. He likes photography and he enjoys a glass of red wine every now and then. I think Brendan is being fairly humble. A man with the talent to portray George in “George of the Jungle” is not boring to me!

4. He got a role as a caveman from wrestling a plant!

During the audition process for “Encino Man,” which was one of Brendan’s first films, Brendan had to take down a plant. Apparently, he amazed the casting directors with his accurate caveman portrayal. I’m not sure I could wrestle a plant so convincingly!

Jim Carrey and Nicolas Cage were also considered for this role. They must’ve let the plant win.

5. He’s not only a Hollywood star but a Bollywood star, too!

Brendan Fraser has graced the screens of Hollywood for many years, but he’s also a star in India! The actor has also portrayed roles in Bollywood, including his starring role in “Line of Descent.” The man is a true talent with global recognition.

Brendan Fraser has time and time again proved himself as a powerful, hilarious, and amazing actor. Despite his assessment of himself, Brendan is endlessly interesting. His long list of roles and astonishing fun facts make it clear that he’s not as boring as he thinks!
