Singing Trio Takes On R.E.M Classic And It’s Better Than The Original.

Tavis Cunningham, Christoff Hairston, and Julian Kennedy have only been singing together for a few months, but you’d never know it by the way they owned the stage during the season 16 live quarterfinals of “America’s Got Talent.”

The trio, who call themselves 1aChord, met by chance in the cafeteria at University of North Carolina in Greensboro. Their voices blend beautifully together, and their gospel-inspired sound has won them a loyal fan base. For the quarterfinals, they didn’t stray from their method of taking a modern song and giving it a whole new sound.

We guarantee that you’ve never heard R.E.M.’s classic “Everybody Hurts” performed like this before! 1aChord managed to take the message of the song, which is about enduring and overcoming depression, and elevate it to the next level. By the time they finished singing, all four judges gave them a standing ovation!

Howie Mandel called their masterpiece “contemporary gospel,” while Heidi Klum declared it “absolutely heavenly.” Listen for yourself in the video below, and don’t forget to share this story.
