Just because you use a wheelchair doesn’t mean you can’t totally own Halloween.
More and more, people are incorporating their wheelchairs into incredibly creative costumes. Some parents manage to pull off a passable costume using nothing more than cardboard and paint, but some wheelchair-based costumes take Halloween to a whole new level!

Ryan and Lana Weimer of Keizer, Oregon started making wheelchair costumes because three of their five children have Spinal Muscular Atrophy that requires them to use a wheelchair for life. After their sons’ intricate wheelchair Halloween costumes made big waves online, parents from all over began requesting their help to make their own kids epic Halloween costumes too.
Ryan and Lana founded the Magic Wheelchair non-profit with the mission to “put a smile on the face of every child in a wheelchair by transforming their wheelchairs into awesomeness created by our hands and their imaginations.” Here are some of the greatest creations to date.
