Every once in a while, we stumble upon a physical reminder of the people who lived before us.
Whether it’s a forgotten heirloom tucked into the corner of an attic, or an intentional “Easter egg” hidden for an unknown stranger to find in the future, there are a million stories attached to these lost or hidden items. On the subreddit “Took You Long Enough,” people share the unusual things they’ve found that offer a hint into our collective human history.
1. New home owners took off all of the heating vents to paint them. This cheeky note was found behind one. Classic Roy.

4. Someone found this message in a bottle with a note inside. “Please don’t open me, my ashes are on a journey, I started at Cumberland Island, so if you see me ashore, please snap a picture, email it & throw me back so I can travel some more.â€

Isn’t it fascinating how these objects seemingly waited for the perfect moment to reappear? We’re sure their owners had forgotten all about them… except for those Zeppelin tickets. That loss had to hurt!
