Frazzled Grandma Holds Up Checkout Line, Then Father Of 2 Approaches With Sweetest Offer.

A kind hearted father of two became a hero recently when his simple act of kindness was recorded by a stranger and posted to the internet. Ryan O’Donnell, 34, was with his two children at a Coles supermarket when he noticed an elderly woman holding up the line in front of him. Instead of growing impatient, O’Donnell looked a little closer… what he discovered tugged his heart strings in a huge way.

O’Donnell made his way closer and heard ‘[The cashier] was trying to tell her to try different account and it didn’t work so they took her to the front area and I walked past and overheard,’ he said.

Without hesitation, O’Donnell stepped up and handed the older woman $50 to pay her bill. A Twitter user captured the moment on camera and posted the following tweet with a caption below.

The woman tried to convince O’Donnell to accept repayment, but the big hearted dad politely refused.

After O’Donnell’s story began to go viral, he was identified and contacted by a local news station. When asked what inspired his random act of kindness, O’Donnell’s reason was simple. “Realistically it was just because the lady reminded me of my mum and grandma and that’s how my mum and dad brought me up,” he said.’If you can help, you do it where and when to the best of your ability.’

What if we all saw our elders as our grandmothers and grandfathers? It wasn’t too long ago that this was the norm. Lets do our best to respect and cherish every elder in our path. We owe them the world!
