Rock’n’roll music has been a huge part of American culture since the mid 50’s. Artists like Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis, shaped its sound and energy, till few were left who could resist the syncopated vibe. It seemed there were few artists that could hold a candle to the greats of yesteryear, but then one young musician appeared with an incredible ability to channel the rock n roll style.
A young man named Tilman auditioned for The Voice Kids in Germany a few years ago and his performance was shockingly good. Instead of covering a pop song to win the crowd, Tilman belted out a genious version of Jerry Lee Lewis’s ‘Great Balls of Fire’ that absolutely brought down the house.
When Tilman began to play, every single member of the audience and the judges leapt to their feet. It was as if Jerry Lee himself was singing through the young prodigy.
It’s really great watching a 14-yr-old do the thing he loves the most. It’s once or twice in a lifetime that a talent like Tilman’s comes around… it seems pretty clear that this kid is going places.
