Great-Grandma Can’t Stop Dancing To Bruno Mars In Celebration Of 100th Birthday.

At InspireMore, we’ve seen the elderly do truly remarkable things. We’ve witnessed a woman nearly 100 years old run a marathon and the oldest man in Australia knit hundreds of sweaters for penguins, but the story we’ve found for you today is nothing short of amazing.

Elisabeth Cockrell became an internet celebrity overnight, when a video of her dancing at her 100th birthday went viral for all the right reasons. Cockrell’s family had no indication that she knew how to dance to this decade’s tunes, but the second she stepped out the door it was clear the matron was full of surprises. One of Cockrell’s grandsons, 50-yr-old Daron Anderson, was lucky enough to catch her now famous jig on video.

“She got to the door and the music started playing, she just went,” Anderson told NBC News. “She’s vivacious. Nobody expected my grandma to do that, I was just so thankful.”

After Anderson posted the video to his Facebook page, a local radio station picked up the story which went viral overnight.

Cockrell doesn’t quite grasp what it means to be internet famous, but her antics have reminded the world that no matter how old you get it’s never too late to be a kid again. Check out the adorable moment Cockrell dances to Bruno Mars’ “24 Magic” in the video below!
