Cows Were Moments From Slaughterhouse, Can’t Stop Jumping For Joy After Being Set Free.

Cows spend most of their lives bearing calves and giving milk. When they begin to age, their milk capacity runs on empty and the cows lose their usefulness from a financial standpoint. If they cannot produce milk, cows become too expensive for most farmers to feed and are disposed of.

In the video below, 25 cows from Overath, Germany were days away from being sent to the slaughterhouse when an animal rescue called Denis Vila stepped in to save them. Anke Heublein, the founder of the rescue, heard that the cows were soon to be taken & processed so she didn’t hesitate to act quickly.

In the video below, we get to enjoy the moment these cows feel grass under their feet for the first time all winter. The winter shedding is a normal routine for farm animals living in cold climates, but this is the first time they’ve been able to enjoy their freedom without the stress of daily milking hanging over their heads.

Anke’s son was proud to have the cows at the foundation, “I’m happy that thet cows can stay and grow old here.”

It is a wonderful moment that should not be taken lightly. These animals have a zest for life from which we could all learn a little.
