11-Yr-Old Bullied For Wearing Brother’s Navy Uniform — Then Older Boy Steps Up To Defend Him.

The day after remembering September 11th, 11-year-old Isaiah Picklesimer wanted to do something special to honor his big brother, Aaron, who is preparing for deployment with the Navy.

So, the Charlotte, North Carolina native donned a Navy uniform at school. “I love [Aaron] and I support him,” explained Isaiah, “My brother is a hero to me.”

Anyone can see the boy’s intentions were pure, but his fellow fifth-graders saw Isaiah’s patriotic gesture as an opportunity to mock him.

“They started bullying me,” said Isaiah. “Saying my uniform was pajamas, that I was a joke.”

Isaiah’s mom– horrified by the terrible bully her son endured– posted on Facebook.

But she never expected the attention her post would receive, garnering support from all around the world. Isaiah was even invited to a Navy pinning ceremony!

But it was support from a next-door neighbor, another middle school boys, that meant the most.

The neighbor, a 7th grader named Nate, pulled out his grandfather’s Army uniform and reached out to Isaiah. The next week, the two boys went to school side by side, both in uniform.

And the goodness didn’t end there. Isaiah’s brother Aaron even got permission to drive 7 hours in order to surprise Isaiah at a middle school dance.

Now, Isaiah and Nate plan to wear their uniforms to school every Friday. Their school is behind the decision 100%.
