After a loved one passes away, we find them in the most unexpected places. Just about anything can remind us of them — their favorite flower, a song, or a beautiful sunset, to name a few. That said, Emily Wentworth has never experienced anything quite like she did when a cat stopped by at her dad’s grave.

There was a reason why Emily chose to visit on that day in particular. The next day would be exactly six years since he had passed. She wanted to visit on the actual day, but she had to work, so the night before was her best option. It was late, and nobody else was around… except for that one cat. See what happened when the precious feline spotted Emily in the video below.
@emilywentworth this was so cute 🥺 sweet lil kitty, mind you this grave isn’t in the city either, must be a nearby farmer’s cat or something 🥺 #tabbycat #grievingjourney ♬ Broken Halos – Chris Stapleton
“This was so cute. Sweet lil kitty,” Emily writes in the caption of her post. “Mind you this grave isn’t in the city either, must be a nearby farmer’s cat or something.”
On the Anniversary of Dad’s Death, a Cat Keeps This Grieving Daughter Company
No matter the owner of the cat, it’s incredible that she managed to show up exactly when Emily needed her most. When the cat rested on Dad’s grave, it must have felt like a sign from him, reminding her that he will always with with her. It’s no wonder that others are finding comfort in it, too. Plus, it’s inspiring people to share their own similar stories.

“I was in Iceland after I lost my mom and couldn’t stop saying how it looked like heaven and she’d be there,” someone shares in reply to Emily’s video. “I got lost in the city one night, phone dead, and a cat stayed with me for hours till my [boyfriend] found me.”
