When we lose someone we love, every item that belonged to them is suddenly precious, even the most ordinary stuff. When a woman, who goes by Butta, discovers an old notebook that belonged to her late brother, she’s elated. Because her brother passed away at 11 years old, and only a year after her own birth, any words she can read from him are special. Still, nothing can prepare her for what she finds inside.

Butta finds the notebook while cleaning a closet. Inside, there’s lots of fun info, like that fact that he wanted to date one of the Spice Girls. On the other hand, there are sections that, according to Butta, showcase how he “sounded so mature and serious about life.” Best of all, though, is the section dedicated to his little sister.
Woman Finds Heartwarming Message in Late Brother’s Notebook
“My baby sister was born on [redacted]. She is five days old and very little,” an entry reads. “My sister is going to grow up and be on the same school as me. What is my sister going to be, well [we’ll] find out when she starts talking. I love my mom and the baby. I hope my sister grow up to be like me.”
Needless to say, reading such kind, loving words from her late brother made Butta’s day. Even though she was so young when he passed, he’s always had a positive impact on her life. Now, thanks to this notebook, she’s getting more insights into how she impacted his short life as well.
“My brother was filled with love and was loved by so many,” Butta shares. “He lived a wonderful life. I’m happy that I found this notebook because he goes into detail about everything!”
His influence can be seen in many areas of Butta’s life. In fact, he’s even the origin behind her nickname. There’s no doubt that, if he were still around, he’d be oh-so proud of his little sister.
“His nickname was Butta and that is the nickname I go by now,” she explains. “I grew up to be just like him.”
