When Lauren Danielle Anderson was giving birth to her second son, Noah, she died. The delivery was made via a “peri-mortem C-section” that was followed by a post-mortem hemorrhage. Lauren suffered cardiac arrest during the birth. Noah was safely retrieved during the C-section, and doctors were able to save Lauren, although she was in a medically induced coma. Every day that she was in the coma, her boyfriend sent encouraging texts to her dormant phone.

The list of problems Lauren incurred during Noah’s birth was extensive. The prognosis was not good, but her boyfriend continued sending texts, refusing to give up. He visited with their son in the nursery while maintaining his vigil. Against all odds, Lauren did recover. It has been a long road back, and she had to relearn many things like walking, motor skills, and talking.
Throughout her recovery, Lauren could look back at her boyfriend’s texts and know she wasn’t alone. The motivational messages created a beautiful window into his feelings.

It was 11 days before Lauren would meet her new son. It’s been about 18 months, and she is still recovering, but she is enjoying life with Noah, her older son, Zac, and her boyfriend.
