Was Katy Perry’s Space Mission Faked? The Internet Seems To Think So

The Blue Origin Space Mission and its all-female crew set us to make history, but they likely didn’t expect the strong backlash. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos referred to Lauren Sánchez, Katy Perry, Aisha Bowe, Kerianne Flynn, Gayle King, and Amanda Nguyen astronauts following the mission, a term that angered many people. The woman reportedly traveled approximately 60 miles above earth and the entire mission lasted only 11 minutes. But now skeptics say the Blue Origin never went anywhere and the whole mission was fake. What many called a publicity stunt has others screaming fraud.

A circulating video shows the all-female crew attempting to open the door of The Blue Origin from inside a pressurized cabin, leading many to believe it must be fake.

Colton Buck J shared the video on X and captioned, “I’d say this is the nail in the coffin. FAKE! The Blue Origin New Shepard crew capsule’s hatch is designed to be opened from the outside by the recovery team after landing, as a safety measure to ensure controlled and secure egress. Space capsules, including New Shepard’s, are generally not designed to open from the inside immediately after landing due to safety protocols, such as ensuring the external environment is secure and the capsule is stable.”

But not everyone is so sure Colton is correct. Like this person who asked, “Are you really that stupid, bro? Don’t you have anything better to do with your time? So where did they go, then?”

This person doesn’t think the Blue Origin mission was fake, they think the opening helped cradle Jeff’s ego. “All this is is letting Jeff look like he did it. The ground team opened the bolts first so Jeff could get a publicity moment.”
