Used Barbies Get Full Makeovers From Fashion Designer For The Sweetest Reason.

Donated Barbie dolls get makeovers from this designer.

Although Barbara Lakin has retired from her career in fashion design, she’s still using her talents to help those in need. She’s been donating her time to Team TLC NYC, a charity that helps provide for immigrants seeking asylum in New York. When the organization’s Little Shop of Kindness received a used Barbie without any clothing, Barbara was inspired to make an outfit for the doll. She enjoyed it so much that she’s been doing it ever since!

However, the designer isn’t just making outfits for the donated dolls. Now, she’s also washing and refurbishing them so that they look like new. Barbara told Fox 5 New York that the charity receives more Barbies than any other doll, but she doesn’t think it has anything to do with the recently released film.
