The Royal Horticultural Society Unveils Catherine’s Rose For Kate Middleton

Catherine's Rose Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton is graceful, beautiful, and charming. As the future queen of England, she takes special care of herself. The press widely documented her attention to her health as Kate battled an undisclosed form of cancer. She took a lengthy break from public life and royal duties to focus on healing. Kate loves to spend time outdoors and often advocates for Mother Nature and being kind to the Earth. The Royal Horticultural Society named Catherine’s Rose after Kate Middleton as a sign of their gratitude.

Per the RHS, they named the flower Catherine’s Rose “to celebrate the incredible healing power of nature and raise awareness of the important role that spending time outdoors plays in bringing us joy and supporting our mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.”

Proceeds From The Sales Of Catherine’s Rose Will Benefit Charity

The RHS explained that funds raised from the sale of Catherine’s Rose will go to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

“As a specialist cancer centre, The Royal Marsden’s mission is to ensure every patient has the care and support they need to achieve the best outcome and patient experience,” Dame Cally Palmer, Chief Executive, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, said in a statement.

“Every rose sold will help The Royal Marsden establish a unique training programme for clinical teams across the country in prehabilitation and rehabilitation techniques which make such a difference to patient care,” she added. “We are honoured to have Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales as joint Patrons of our specialist cancer centre and we are very grateful to The Princess of Wales and the RHS for setting up this initiative and for the benefit it will bring to cancer patients everywhere.”

Kate Middleton and Prince William shared their excitement about Catherine’s Rose on X. “Spending time in nature has always been a source of comfort and strength. Gardens and green spaces provide not only beauty and joy, but also vital support for our mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. Today the Royal Horticultural Society are announcing a new Rose, ‘Catherine’s Rose,’ grown by Harkness Roses. The proceeds from this rose will support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, helping patients across the country live well with, and beyond, cancer.”

Catherine’s Rose will be available to purchase beginning May 9.
