Cancer is a horrible disease at any age, but childhood cancer can be particularly brutal. The patient must undergo tests, treatments, and lifestyle changes to battle the disease. Their loved ones sit by hoping and praying that the cancer will die. Sometimes, the cancer is so aggressive that it can make treatment difficult. Tessa, a 6-year-old in Australia, has Stage 4 neuroblastoma, a high-risk pediatric cancer. She’s exhausted all options in her home country and must travel abroad for treatment. To make that possible, her family launched a GoFundMe. They hoped to raise money, but what they didn’t expect was help from a huge social media influencer.

Samuel Weidenhofer Asked His Millions of Followers to Help with Tessa’s Cancer Treatment
Sam shared a post on Instagram, hoping to help raise money for Tessa’s cancer treatment.
“Tessa is fighting cancer at 6 years old.. and her only chance is treatment overseas. No child should have to go through this,” he wrote.
His plea worked. Samuel’s followers wanted to help.
“ON IT!! Let’s do what we do best team! Out of almost 3 million followers, we could each even donate $1 and get to the goal! We did it for Ed, let’s do it for this Queen! She deserves to live a beautiful and happy life! We got you girls,” someone wrote.
“Praying and sending all the good healing vibrations your way little one,” another person shared.
“Donated. I have two little girls, praying for Tessa and her family, you’ve got this baby girl,” a donor wrote.
Samuel didn’t stop there. According to the GoFundMe, he helped Tessa meet Lainey Wilson.
“Seeing Tessa up on stage at the Lainey Wilson concert, Samuel Weidenhofer organised, was surreal. Today she’s still smiling, still saying to her mum, “I did that,” just needing to hear it was all real,” a post reads.
Together, Samuel and Tessa’s family have raised almost half a million dollars for her treatment.
