We know we’re living in other generations’ future, but sometimes things seem to be really out of this world. Sure, technology is constantly evolving, and many people will argue that we are much better off due to scientific advancements. It’s not hard to look at the world around us and be completely in awe of what we have created. Starbucks, the largest coffee chain in the world, is always looking for ways to improve. They try to be delicious, sustainable, and loving to planet Earth. Recently, Starbucks announced they were opening a first-of-its-kind 3-D printed store in Texas. And, yes, it’s pretty darn incredible.

Starbucks Shared Video Of The 3-D Printed Store On Instagram
Starbucks confirmed with Today that the 3-D location was brought to life through a partnership with PERI 3D Construction, a company based in Weißenhorn, Germany. The location in Brownsville is a drive-thru model and the first of its kind in the United States.
Adeola Olubamiji, Ph.D., is an engineer, technologist, CEO of Pathfinder Consulting, told Today this kind of technology is both exciting and efficient.
“I believe that for construction as an industry, it’s one of the practical applications of 3D printing that I’m looking forward to in five years, 10 years, for it to be actually widely adopted,” she said. “So I’m excited to see it coming into a large company like Starbucks that would get an opportunity to use it across multiple stations.”
The new 3-D printed Starbucks impressed many people.
“As an architect, I approve this,” someone wrote on Instagram.
“How fast did you get it up and going? That’s cool,” another person asked,
Of course, someone had to come in with a criticism .” We can get this but not an update to your app that allows your calories to be adjusted depending on what you customize your drink with?”
The new 3-D printed Starbucks opens May 2.
