Owning a Roomba is “supposed” to be a convenience. The small robot vacuum traverses the floor throughout the day, keeping dust and dirt at bay. Or does it? What a Roomba actually does is a completely different thing. Comedian and social media personality Dalton Smiley offers his impression of what it’s like to own a Roomba.

Pretending to be a Roomba, Dalton gives a near-perfect impression of the finicky appliance. If your house is full of “cliffs,” your Roomba will be stuck constantly and holler for help. In this instance, a cliff is any threshold. If you have any difficulty with your Wi-Fi, the Roomba will go on strike. It doesn’t mean that your Wi-Fi is out; it simply means that the Roomba is unable to connect for whatever reason.
Simple obstructions like cords will cause frustration for the Roomba, and it will want to yank them out of the wall. It doesn’t take much for the unit to run out of bin storage. At that point, it stops maneuvering around your furniture and proclaims it is full. On occasion, it may expel dust and dirt in a fit, like a spiteful cat throwing up on your freshly changed sheets.
Dalton’s Roomba impressions were so spot-on that fans requested a part two, and he obliged.
Part two explores stairways, walls, and an unmanageable electrical cord. Dalton wonders how his Roomba can die right next to the charging port or spin in endless circles. Every one of his impressions is something a Roomba has done in real life. Roomba owners can relate.
