Princess Kate And Prince William Wear Matching Mementos While Supporting Southport Survivors

Southport

It’s hard to believe it’s been more than a year since a horrific stabbing took the lives of three children in Southport near Liverpool in the United Kingdom. On July 29, 2024, Bebe King, 6, Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, 9, were killed during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class at Hart Space dance studio. Their killer, Axel Rudakubana, will spend the rest of his life in prison after admitting to the attack. The girls’ story touched the lives of many in the UK, including the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Prince William And Princess Kate Visited Southport To Pay Their Respects

According to People, Prince William and Princess Kate traveled to Southport on September 23. They met with victims’ surviving family members. GB News reported Bebe’s mother, Lauren, gifted the prince and princess a friendship bracelet that read “Bebe’s Hive.” The words refer to a grief support charity for children founded in the young victim’s name.

“I think we’re really grateful anyway, how Bebe’s been honoured so much in this school. And seeing the prince and princess support that and be here has been just amazing,” Lauren said.

Prince William took time to speak in Southport. He expressed his gratitude to the community for supporting the victims’ families.

“Many lives were changed on that terrible day – including countless members of this school community. Bebe, Alice and Elsie’s friends and classmates have come together to support each other and remember the girls in their own way,” he continued.

“To the teaching community here at Churchtown Primary and Farnborough Road, where we visited this morning – each and every one of you has gone above and beyond to help heal this incredible group of young people. Thank you,” William said.
