It appears that Kate Middleton and Prince William are ready to relocate their family to a new home. They’ve lived on the grounds of Windsor Castle in Adelaide Cottage for the last few years with their children. However, according to a report from the Daily Mail, Prince William and Princess Kate would like a bit more room and privacy while raising their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The pair reportedly has their eyes on Fort Belvedere, a place that holds historic significance. King Edward VIII signed papers to abdicate the throne at Fort Belvedere before marrying American socialite Wallis Simpson, the New York Post reported.

Fort Belvedere Has A Lot To Offer The Royal Family
In order for Prince William and Kate Middleton to move, they have to find the perfect spot for their family, and it appears Fort Belvedere is the place. The 59-acre estate boasts an outdoor pool, rose garden, stables, and a tennis court, offering a range of leisure activities. It also boasts private cottages for staff to reside in.
A source told the Daily Mail the family wants a new space.
“They feel they have outgrown Adelaide Cottage and need somewhere more substantial,” an insider told the outlet.
“This is the perfect new home for them. It has a swimming pool and tennis court, and Charlotte loves playing tennis,” they added.
The couple has made no official announcement about relocating to Fort Belvedere and seems to be enjoying their summer. They’ve certainly been busy with royal engagements and, of course, a bit of fun sprinkled here and there.
During her reign, Queen Elizabeth lived in Buckingham Palace. Following her death and King Charles’s assumption of the throne, he did not move into the palace. As the next in line, Prince William could move his family into the palace, but sources say that’s unlikely. Perhaps Fort Belvedere does have a bright future for the royal family. Only time will tell.
