As far as what happened while Marvin was gone, it seems they can’t say for sure. That said, one commentor took note that the cat looks taken care of, leading them to theorize that a neighbor took him in and he only recently managed to escape. Emily confirmed this possibility, saying: “More info that is coming out would show you are correct.”
In any case, the Whitlock family could not be more grateful to have Marvin back home where he belongs. And to ensure his safety going forward, they’ll be getting him microchipped. Because, as countless other stories have shown, doing so greatly increases the chances of a pet being reunited with their family!
