Infants that end up in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) fight the biggest uphill battle they will ever face.
From the moment they enter this world, they are inundated with medication, isolation, and procedures to try and sustain their fragile lives. The fight goes on one day at a time, with the nurses of the NICU at the front lines. Renee, a beloved nurse at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia, knows this from experience.
To thank her for all she’s done, Kleenex teamed up with a group of parents whose children wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for this caring nurse. They gathered many of them from all around the country so they could surprise Renee with a visit from some of her favorite people: the babies who’s hearts she worked hard to keep beating.
