When you have an egress window in a basement, it usually has a window well. This area is large enough for a human to climb out. There is typically a ladder or steps built into the molded sides. Unfortunately, sometimes small critters fall into the wells and get stuck. Getting them out requires creativity. When this happened to a mouse recently, a clever rope ladder gave him an escape route.

The ladder design is the creativity of the original poster’s husband. He is active in another video, releasing a small critter from a trap. They appear to live on the edge of a large field, probably home to many animals. No doubt the little mouse has a home somewhere in the tall grass. Thankfully, the little mouse will live to see another day due to the genius escape route.
When they noticed the little mouse trapped in the window well, the husband devised a clever way to help the mouse escape. He made a rope ladder for the mouse. Using what looks like paracord, he tied a series of loops together. This gave the mouse the ability to climb out on his own. We’re unsure how he coaxed the mouse to the rope ladder. Perhaps he added a bit of peanut butter on the lower parts.

Setting the video to music from “Mission: Impossible,” they recorded the mouse climbing the ladder. The loops gave the little mouse areas to rest on the long climb. He finally made it to the top of the rope ladder.
After hearing from fans, the original poster added alternate music and soundtracks to the video. Each is great, but none is as perfect as the “Mission: Impossible” theme.
