Cancer profoundly affected the royal family in 2024. Both King Charles and Kate Middleton faced cancer diagnoses. Charles and Kate revealed a few details about their cancer. However, they’ve opened up about treatment and offered support to others. On June 2, King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Kate attended the 125th anniversary of Cancer Research UK at St. James’s Palace in London, according to People. This is the first cancer-focused event King Charles and Kate Middleton have attended together since announcing they had cancer.

King Charles and Kate Middleton Work Hard to Support Cancer Patients
This is the first time King Charles and Kate Middleton have appeared together at a function supporting cancer patients. They’ve each done much work independently in the last two years.
Following her cancer diagnosis, Kate Middleton took to social media to share a message of gratitude. She thanked followers for their prayers and good thoughts during a very challenging time in her life.
“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal,” she wrote. “Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me.”
King Charles shared a similar message in the Stand Up to Cancer broadcast.
“Today, I am able to share with you the good news that thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and adherence to ‘doctors’ orders,’ my own schedule of cancer treatment can be reduced in the New Year,” he said. “This milestone is both a personal blessing and a testimony to the remarkable advances that have been made in cancer care in recent years; testimony that I hope may give encouragement to the 50% of us who will be diagnosed with the illness at some point in our lives.”
