Julia Roberts made a heartbreaking post on Instagram on May 16. Her family had to say goodbye to their beloved dog, Myrtle. Julie and her husband, Danny Moder, had their dog for nearly two decades. Myrtle was with the family through a lot, including the lives of their children, twins Phineas and Hazel, and son Henry. Julia shared the devastating news of Myrtle’s death on Instagram. She wrote very simply, “Our Myrtle. A Legend. 2006-2025.”

Danny Moder shared his own post about Myrtle on the heels of Julia Roberts’ tribute to Myrtle.
“The definition of Fierce Loyalty, even if she bit the pizza man once. RIP Myrtle…aka Myrtle Von Mertzenberger,” Danny wrote.
