Jonathan Jackson is best known for his portrayal of Avery Barkley in the hit drama “Nashville,”but did you know he’s not just acting in it? Boy, can he sing!

It must be in his genes – his father is not only a physician but a country musician, too – and if you need proof, just listen to the video below. Jonathan’s astounding rendition of the Righteous Brothers’ 1955 hit “Unchained Melody,” immortalized during Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze’s pottery scene in “Ghost,” is hauntingly beautiful.

After hearing the clip, many have said that it’s the best cover of the classic love song they’ve ever heard.

Jonathan’s acting career took off in 1993 when he won the role of Lucky Spencer on the ABC daytime soap opera “General Hospital.” A little more than a decade later, he started jamming with his newly formed band, now known as “Jonathan Jackson + Enation.” He serves as frontman singing, playing the guitar, and writing almost all of the band’s songs.

So it was kind of a shoo-in when he took the role of resident crooner on “Nashville” in 2012. While Avery Barkley is a fictional character, there’s nothing fictional about the music itself, which Jonathan proudly performs.
