You might get mixed results when introducing a baby into a house with an animal. In one example from a recent viral video, a dog named Charlie was not happy when he got a new baby. Although Charlie was there first, the baby quickly took top priority over the dog. Charlie was never mean to the baby but whined quite a bit. They’ll be besties later we’re sure. Conversely, some dogs think their pawrrents had the baby just for them.

Having an extra grandma around the house is never a bad thing. Or is it? The dog complains when Mom doesn’t put socks on the baby. When the newborn is lying on a blanket and Coco thinks he is cold, she tries to cover him up.

Coco is seven years old. Until recently, she was the only dog and the household’s most important “person.” Her Mom added in the caption, “Idk who hired her but we had to send her to her grandparents for a week so that she could relax.” Poor Coco. Apparently, the little “Grandma” also got Mom’s postpartum anxiety. I suppose if someone has to suffer.
Coco is always on watch. She checks on him when he is restless.

She keeps a watchful eye on him while he sleeps.

When the baby cries, Coco ensures Mom hears him and will wake the parents if they don’t get up quickly enough. No matter where the baby is, the dog is always near. She guards him on his swing and lies quietly beside him during naps.

Always use caution when introducing a new baby to your old dog.
