Nicole Eggert

A cancer diagnosis is one of the scariest things a parent can face. They worry not only about themselves, but also about what could potentially happen to their children. Thankfully, science continues to advance daily, and many treatments exist that can extend life and sometimes even be lifesaving. Nicole Eggert once portrayed Summer Quinn, a lifeguard who saved lives on the beach in the hit TV show Baywatch. Today, the mother of two is battling breast cancer and hoping to save her own life for her daughters. Nicole shared an update on her health with the New York Post and how she remains positive after her second mastectomy.

Early On, Nicole Eggert Kept Her Breast Cancer Private

She didn’t disclose her diagnosis until January 2024, but knew about the disease in December 2023.

“I wanted to share my journey publicly because I felt that if I was so scared and I was so alone, that obviously other people were too,” Nicole said.

“So let’s make this a happy place,” she added, hoping to ease the minds of other breast cancer warriors. “Let’s make this a place where we can talk about things, and nobody else has to know, and we don’t have to feel scared; we can feel empowered.”

Nicole said that her stage 2 cribriform carcinoma hasn’t always been easy. She explained the most difficult part was telling her daughters, Dilyn, 27, and Keegan, 14. But they became closer as a family in the end.

Now, Nicole Eggert is enjoying her life with her daughters and recovering from a second surgery.

“It’s funny, it’s all of those things, because you’re dealing with boobs all day, every day, all day long, and you’re like, I don’t really care, I just want them to be healthy,” she continued. “So my doctor was amazing, and he left me with the cutest little boobs, and I’m healthy, and all my reports are clear.”
