Eric Dane Vows To “Fight Until The Last Breath” Amid ALS Battle

Eric Dane ALS

Eric Dane announced his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis diagnosis in April, much to the shock of fans. The debilitating motor neuron condition has no cure and has a typical life expectancy of just two to five years after diagnosis. The Euphoria star shares two daughters, Billie and Georgia, with Rebecca Gayheart. Since disclosing his ALS, Eric’s been very vocal about being a part of his girls’ lives as long as he can. He recently traveled to Washington, D.C., and met with Rep. Eric Swalwell to discuss ALS.

“I have two daughters at home. I want to see them graduate college, get married, maybe even have grandkids,” he said. “You know I want to be there for all that, so I’m going to fight until the last breath on this one.”

It was an honor to meet with @iamalsorg and my friend @realericdane to discuss the urgent need for progress in the fight against ALS. From investing in innovative treatments to ensuring access to quality care, we must do more to support patients, families, and researchers.

Eric Dane Admitted Receiving an ALS Diagnosis Is Very Hard

Eric Dane shared how difficult it is to hear that you have ALS.

“ALS is the last thing you want to diagnose anybody with,” he said. “So often it takes all this time for these people to be diagnosed, then it precludes them from being a part of these clinical trials.”

Eric Swalwell shared the video on TikTok, where it quickly went viral. Fans love seeing Eric Dane.

“’I wanna watch my daughters get married and have grandkids, I’m going to fight till the last breath on this one’ such an amazing father,” a fan remarked.

Others couldn’t believe how fast Eric Dane’s ALS progressed.

“This is hurting me the way Bruce Willis and Michael J Fox are hurting me. To hear him already have speech deficits…. It’s progressing too fast,” someone wrote.

Others thought about Eric’s family and how this must be for them.

“My heart hurts so so much for Eric Dane,” a comment reads. “Praying for him and his family.”
