Daniel Day-Lewis Makes Exciting Announcement Seven Years After Leaving Hollywood

In June 2017, Daniel Day-Lewis announced he planned to retire from acting.

Per The Guardian, he made a statement regarding retirement that read, “He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject.”

The three-time Oscar winner went on to live quietly and privately for the next seven years. But it seems the veteran actor is back on set to support his son’s directorial debut.

Focus Features confirmed Daniel’s son, Ronan Day-Lewis, will direct Anemone, in which his father will star.

Focus Features shared on Instagram, “Focus Features & Plan B partner on Ronan Day-Lewis’s feature directorial debut ANEMONE, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, Samuel Bottomley, & Safia Oakley-Green.”

The News Of Daniels’ Return Made Many People Happy

Fans shared their delight on Instagram.

A huge fan wrote, “My favorite actor of all time! Yeeeessss.”

This person agreed, “Can’t wait to see him again on screen.”

Daniel’s news came at the perfect time for some fans. “After losing Dame Maggie, it’s so nice hear some good news.”

Some people already see big things coming during Daniel’s return. “Rip all other Oscar nominees that year,” someone wrote.

Daniel, a skilled method actor, won three Oscars before retiring in 2017. He took home the best actor award for My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood, and Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln.

Daniel doesn’t have social media and has yet to make a statement to the press about his return to the big screen.
