Anyone who knows me understands how much I love a good pun. This is something I have in common with Hannah Quinn — on TikTok, she recently shared a delightful video of the day she chose to mess with her co-workers in the best way possible. Every time she’d approach a new person, she’d tell them the same, unusual thing: “They said you sound like an owl.”
The purpose of this joke is to get the other person to reply with the question, “Who?” which makes it sound as though they’re imitating the sound of an owl. This may seem obvious in this context, but you’d be surprised at how many people fall for it!
No matter how many times it happens, there’s something so great about seeing someone take a moment after saying “who” to stop and realize what just happened.
