Christie, with her unmatched beauty, and Billy, who wrote all about his Uptown Girl, seemed like they’d be together forever. They married and welcomed daughter Alexa Ray Joel in 1985, and everything seemed perfect. But behind the scenes, the couple’s marriage cracked under the pressure. The pair ultimately divorced in 1994, but more than 30 years later, Christie admits she and Billy still share love for each other, even if the romance is over.

Christie Brinkley And Billy Joel Have A Great Relationship

Some say you can’t be friends after divorce, but Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley have proven that’s not the case. The supermodel turned business mogul sat down with Today to talk about her new memoir, Uptown Girl. She said of Billy, “I still love him. The love is still there. We just had things that kept us from being able to continue to live together. At that point, it was the best thing for us to do. He’s a great guy, a great friend, we’ve had so many wonderful years together.”

Christie added, “We had years where we couldn’t believe the paths that our lives were taking.”

Of course, Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel’s greatest accomplishment is their daughter, Alexa Ray. And while they are no longer in love, they can’t help but love each other for the life they created together.

A fan wrote. “Love takes different shapes and forms, wonderful they’ve had a beautiful relationship in friendship and family.”
