Do you know what kinds of birds live in your area? With the help of Becca Rowland, you just might be able to figure that out. Or, at the very least, you’ll have a great time learning about bird sounds. Living in Canada, Becca spends much of her time as an artist and writer… and as a bird enthusiast, clearly. Her social media pages are full of funny, educational videos on how to identify bird sounds.

She’s far from the first person to try this, of course. But her method is equal parts silly and helpful. Becca’s ability to identify comparable sounds is nothing short of brilliant. Sure, the comparisons sound obvious once they’re pointed out to us. But actually being the one to recognize that a grasshopper sparrow sounds oddly like The Price is Right theme song? Mind blowing. Now, let’s have a bit of a speed round, shall we?

There’s something so incredibly fun about the way Becca teaches how to recognize bird sounds. And that’s exactly why she was able to snag an awesome book deal! Her book is called Bird Talk, and it aims to do exactly what Becca does on her social media pages. You can find out more about her book here (the release date is June 24, 2025).
