I think every person who has ever witnessed a seal’s cuteness dreams of this sort of encounter.
This nature-lover was sitting on the shore of New Zealand, enjoying the waves and the view when she saw a little friend swimming in the water.
As she observed further, she noticed the seal’s excitement. The seal started to swim in her direction!
Once the seal got to her rock, they playfully sniffed her hand, took a step back, and showed off one of their cool tricks: rolling over onto their back!
It doesn’t get cuter than this.
This is likely a New Zealand sea lion or fur seal, two common species in the country. While this young baby was alone, it was for good reason. Their mothers leave the babies at the shore when they go fishing!
This little marine creature couldn’t have looked happier.
