7. Go to club and organization meetings, join a frat/sorority, and be a pioneer!

I went to countless meetings my freshman year of college and that even includes the Filipino Student Association (I am not even one percent Filipino). Going to meetings is for the most part free, and you can discover an interest you didn’t even know you had so go to as many as you can from the start. You can see what you like and what you don’t, and get involved early on. Joining Greek life is a great way to meet a ton of people at once and they do tons of philanthropic events and random fun events for the school. If you feel like you are really passionate about a particular group, apply to be an officer! Leadership positions are huge and impressive when you’re applying to jobs and graduate school. You can even spearhead your own organization for something your school might be lacking.
