6. Every person you meet could potentially be your best friend.
via Buzzfeed
Do NOT hesitate to go out and meet people! My first semester of college, I met tons of people, and I still have random phone numbers of students I met whom I can no longer remember. I wasn’t afraid to be friendly and put myself out there. I met people while eating in the dining hall and just sitting with strangers or when I was just sitting in the student union and other common areas of the university. I met my current amazing best friends during that first semester, so it was a pretty important time to be an extrovert. Everyone is feeling just as uneasy as you and desperate for friends, so never judge and be kind to everyone you meet!

Becoming friends with a professor or an advisor is also a really good idea because they can easily guide and mentor you, plus they’ll serve as an awesome reference in the future.
