BBC Accidentally Puts Wrong Guy On Live TV, But His Legendary Interview Will Go Down In History.

10 years ago this week, a man named Guy Goma walked into the London Offices of the BBC to interview for an entry level IT job, but he ended up walking out as an international celebrity.

The story goes like this. When Goma entered the studio, he presented himself at the front desk and introduced himself. He was rushed to a nearby studio for what he thought was a job interview, but Guy had been mistaken for another man named Guy Kewney. Kewney, an internet expert, was due for an actual TV interview at the station for a live Q&A regarding Apple Inc.’s legal battle with the Beatles’ record label, Apple Corps.

The unsuspecting man was brushed with makeup and wired with a microphone then ushered onto set for the live interview.

It was then that Goma realized he was in the wrong place at the right time.

During the course of the interview, Goma remained composed and professional as he “answered” questions he clearly had little knowledge of… but the interview just kept on going.

When interviewer asked Goma if he was surprised by the final verdict in the case, he tactfully answered “I’m very surprised to see this verdict come on me. I was not expecting that.â€

Despite his incredible performance, Goma did not end up getting the IT job… but he will remain an internet legend forever.
