Sir Elton John Appears In Rare Photo With His Sons

Sir Elton John became the chairman of Watford Football Club in 1976 and served in that role until 1986. He took the position as Chairman a second time in 1997 and served until 2002. Upon stepping down. Waterford F.C. made Elton the Honorary Life President. He’s been a fan of the team since his childhood, and Waterford wanted to honor him in a very special way. With Sir Elton John’s help, the team designed a jersey to wear during the game against Blackburn Rovers on September 13, as reported by the BBC. It was an occasion that touched the ‘I’m Still Standing Singer, who celebrated with his sons, Elijah, 12, and Zachary, 14.

Sir Elton John Shared A Sweet Photo With His Sons

Sir Elton John shared a photo with his sons, Elijah and Zachary, on Instagram. All three wore the special Waterford F.C. jersey with their names on the back.

“Watching @watfordfcofficial wear the new kit at today’s game was another incredibly special moment for me. From standing on the terraces as a boy, to celebrating 50 years since I became Chairman with my sons, this club has been one of the great loves of my life,” he captioned the very special photo.

“Great photo w/ a great man. This club is your ❤️ & we’re so glad we have you,” a fan shared.

“My son was just below you sporting his new blue jersey x,” another person wrote.

One fan noted how lucky his sons are to have Sir Elton John as their father.  

“Imagine being a young kid and knowing to some extent your dad is important, famous and then reach the age where you have the moment of full realization that your dad…. YOUR DAD…..the man that tells you to pick up your things and do your homework is frickin’ ELTON JOHN. no, pardon, SIR ELTON JOHN! what a trip. Congratulations Elton! Wishing you and yours…and Watford FC the best,” they wrote.
