Fans Congratulate Joni Mitchell on Her New Citizenship
American fans wished Joni Mitchell well after becoming a citizen.
“Always loved your music and I am very glad you are happy to be an American. Seems like people that have traveled the world can really appreciate what America offers that other countries can’t or won’t,” a fan wrote.
This person agreed, “CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are & always have been a true American, way before you became one officially! Better to be safe these days than risk being booted out of the country. We want & need your beautiful voice & heart here! You were one of my 1st favorite singers & still are!”
Some criticized Joni Mitchell’s decision, but her true fans came to her defense.
“Congratulations! I’m sorry that a meaningful moment of your life is reduced to political fodder of the day by very petty people. I probably disagree with much of your political views but appreciate you as an artist and see you as a human being and a kind soul,” someone shared.
