Joshua Byrne describes himself as a family-centered dog lover who loves to show the world “the beautiful things around us that we may just take for granted.”
And he’s done just that with the adorable video below which shows the love between his friendly Golden retriever rescue and the man she enthusiastically greets on his twice-weekly rounds.
“Every week the garbage man takes time to see my pup and say hi. Who said that nice people are hard to find?” Josh wrote in the video’s caption.
The camera, hidden behind Byrne’s leg, catches the moment the bright orange garbage truck pulls up to the curb…

Shelby, barely able to contain her excitement, rushes to the edge of the grass with her tail flying high.
She’s obviously gone through some training about the proper way to greet her friends because she somehow manages to restrain herself from leaping up and slathering his face with kisses.
Of course, the garbage man isn’t the only one this friendly Golden loves. Several months ago, Josh posted another video, this one showing Shelby loving on her little sister:
“Shelby the Golden is back from loving the garbage man during the day to loving my little girl. Every morning my two little pups take a few moments to just love each other. In their own little way.”
Dogs are just the best.
