A family in Ellabell, Georgia is going viral for their funny weather report, and we understand why! If it were up to us, all meteorologists would work like them.
A video of the so-called report is making its rounds on social media and being shared by hundreds. In it, a self-proclaimed “local redneck” showcases what hurricane season looks like for the near-coastal city, which is about 30 miles outside of Savannah.
Lacie Hendrix, owner of Hendrix Taxidermy, serves as the hilarious meteorologist in the clip. To explain just how bad the storms can be, she holds onto a tree and rests on a well-hidden wooden post, so she looks like the wind is trying to blow her away.
All of a sudden, a trash can comes flying at her, then a pool float follows, and finally her “daddy” goes sailing by trying to grab onto her leg before heading to Oz.
“Grab that tree, Daddy!” she screams to him.
Of course, the whole storm is staged, and the camera shows how as the clip ends. The video pans to the right where her brother is holding a hose, spraying water up in the air like rain. When it pans to the left, it shows her mom pulling on a rope. The rope was attached to the wooden post—so Lacie looked like she was shaking. The redneck family pulled out all the strings to make the funny weather report as real as possible!
