This Is Your Path, Your Life, Your Choice.

There’s nothing wrong with you if you want to be in a relationship. There’s nothing wrong with you if you want to be single.

There’s nothing wrong with you if you want to get married. There’s nothing wrong with you if you don’t want to wed.

There’s nothing wrong with you if you want to have children. There’s nothing wrong with you if you want to be childless.

This is your life. People see your actions and hear your words, but they don’t know your motivations. You see people’s actions and hear their words, but you don’t know their motivations.

We don’t know what we would do or choose if we were them, only if the same choice were presented to us.

Respect for other people’s life choices is kind and supportive. Trying to get them to change their life or assuming they must be flawed, needy, brainwashed, angry, or fearful is disrespectful and probably won’t be appreciated.

“Helping” or “encouraging” doesn’t mean trying to persuade someone to do what they don’t want to do. Encouragement means supporting someone in doing what they believe is best for their life.

It can be frustrating trying to communicate this to people. Try not to get mad if you believe they have good intentions, but do be firm and clear. Tell them that what you would really appreciate is if they would just hear you and support you in your decisions for your life.
