During the holidays, there is no shortage of musical performances. People in parades, symphonies, and even elementary schools take this time of year as an opportunity to sing and spread good cheer.

The United States Air Force Band and Singing Sergeants are no different – but their talent sure is. This year, the groups released a video of them performing “One Voice” by the Wailin’ Jennys.

The performance starts with a beautiful harp solo before one officer comes to stage to begin the song with the lyrics, “this is the sound of one voice”. The soloists’ voice fills the cathedral and the minimalist approach to the song is enough to send shivers down anyone’s spine – but somehow, it gets better.
Soon, two, then three officers are singing together while the full band plays music behind them. Their gorgeous harmonies echo across the arched ceilings and build upon each other to create a unique and breath-taking sound.

Soon enough, the three officers are joined by a whole chorus, as well as the entire band. As expected, each additional person only brings more impact and beauty to the heartwarming performance.

Once again, it seems that it can’t get any better – until the camera pans to two little girls who run up to the stage and join in on the singing. Then, a huge crowd of people follows.

The conductor eventually turns around and puts his focus on the crowd of people as they all sing together, “This is the sound of one voice. One people, one voice. A song for every one of us. This is the song of one voice.”
When the Singing Sergeants posted the video on their social media page, they captioned it saying that this performance is meant to be “a reminder that together we can create a better world.” The performance is proof that when people come together, the result is beautiful and magical.
