If you’re a student or a parent of a student, we don’t have to tell you how much pressure these young people are under — especially during final exams. That’s why we had to recognize this awesome professor! His student posted about him, writing:
Shout out to my Arabic teacher who looked at us yesterday mid-lesson and said, “I’m worried. You all look exhausted and depressed.”
We were like, “Oh yeah, we’re dead inside, haven’t you noticed?”
Rather than dismissing the student’s dry joke, the professor had the best response.
He snapped shut the textbook, threw up his hands, and said, “That’s not healthy! No more vocab! Time for dancing!”
And he taught us a dance from Iraq and we danced instead of doing vocab. We didn’t stop dancing until he saw all of us laughing and was satisfied that we were feeling better.
What a great guy! The student ended her post, writing, “It was perhaps the coolest, most kind-hearted thing I’ve ever seen a college instructor do.”
