Teacher Loses Bet To Student And Performs Epic Beyoncé Dance In Viral Video.

Some teachers are willing to do just about anything to encourage their students — even if that means going viral dancing to Beyoncé.

When fourteen-year-old My’Angel Johnson was struggling in reading class, her teacher did just that. Terrence Bradley is a middle school teacher at Conway Middle School in South Carolina, and he knew his student had what it took to ace the state’s end of the year reading exam.

Terrence was so sure that My’Angel could get an ‘A’ on the test that he made a bet with the 8th grader, promising that if she did well he’d perform a choreographed dance to Beyoncé’s “Before I Let Go.” My’Angel, who loves to dance and hopes to some day become a choreographer, jumped at the opportunity and used it as incentive to not just get an ‘A’ but to get a perfect score!

My’Angel said acing the test was a load off her mind, and having Mr. Bradley honor their bet was just an added bonus. “I definitely did cry,” she explained. “Even with all the studying, I wasn’t sure I was going to pass.”

After the test results came back from the state board of education Terrence set to work keeping his promise, learning every step of the dance My’Angel had put together and performing the routine with her in front of a video camera. The result is pure magic!

Turns out, Terrence has great rhythm! The video of the teacher and his student was so cute that it instantly went viral, adding a sweet surprise to the excitement over My’Angel’s perfect test score. Terrence says he was just happy that his dancing was up to snuff — he really didn’t want to let My’Angel down after she worked so hard to achieve a perfect score.

“I was ecstatic I did well on it,” Terrence stated. “These students, they work so hard. We try to prepare them to do well on these exams so when she scored 100% I was happy for her.”

Everyone in the school district was thrilled for My’Angel and loved that Terrence was up for this fun reward. “It was a lot of laughter to watch the video,” said school principal Regina Pertell. “She’s been a great student for the past three years. She came out of her shell and just blossomed this year.”

We love a teacher who is willing to go the extra mile for his students. If that extra mile also happens to mean cutting a rug to Queen Bey, that’s even better! Way to go on that exam, My’Angel — we’re all proud of you!
