Hard-Working Teenagers Blow Audience Away With Epic Swing Routine.

teen swing dancers

Sometimes it might seem like most teenagers spend all their time with their heads buried in their phones or tablets, but Ryan Boz and Alexis Garrish prove that stereotype wrong.

Sure, they probably spend time online, but they also devote hours of their week to practicing swing dance. That fact became entirely clear just moments after they walked onto the floor at the 2015 U.S. Open Swing Dance Championships in Burbank, California. The two then-15-year-olds chose the more contemporary hit “Shut Up And Dance” by Walk The Moon for their performance, and they were in it to win it!

The then-teens had only been dancing together for about a year before competing for the coveted trophy in the young adult division. Because of their hard work and dedication, they took home the trophy and won the highest West Coast Swing Honor possible!

Both Ryan and Alexis have been dancing for most of their lives, and they each have competed individually as well as in their duo.

While they have incredible talent on their own, they both come from dance families – in fact, their mothers previously competed against each other at past competitions! Now, the families cheer together to support their kids.

The best part of watching Ryan and Alexis dance is how happy they look! Their smiles say it all, and they seem to truly enjoy working together to create something incredibly entertaining.
