Tanner Howe of Huntington Beach, California, knows the healing power of music.
Now more than ever, the gifted singer is leaning on his favorite tunes to help him through the novel coronavirus quarantine. So, he figured, why not share the cheer with other people who are feeling a little down?
He quickly got to work putting on a unique concert from a truck bed! When his relatives heard about the awesome idea, they eagerly joined in.
“My family and I got tired of sitting at the house looking at each other,” Tanner wrote later. “So we decided to put together a surprise show for a couple of close friends and family members, while still maintaining a safe social distance.”
Initially, they were only going to play for their loved ones in Orange County and Long Beach, but they soon realized the more, the merrier!
They definitely spread joy as Tanner sang Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling.” Some of his neighbors held up signs with encouraging messages on them, while others just danced along with their children.
In the end, everyone was able to join in the beautiful celebration! And it was just what they needed during this difficult time.
We can all agree that Tanner has an incredible voice, but what’s even more impressive is his ability to bring others together! We may be practicing social distancing, but that doesn’t mean we can’t lift each other up! Making and strengthening our connections is so important, especially in this uncertain time.
