Take a $150 waterproof camera from Amazon and a passion for the surf and what do you get? A literal overnight sensation who goes by the name of Clark Little.
Why are Clark’s photos so successful? Because they’re unique. While most surf photographers base their motivation on capturing what could be the cover of the next magazine, Clark would “rather go out and heavy shore break with nobody out and capture some heavy four-lip monster throwing over with the sand sucking up.” That mentality shows in his work.
The passionate, charismatic and daring sharpshooter is completely in touch with the surf. His singular finesse lies in knowing exactly when and how to time each shot perfectly. In summation, Clark Little has mastered the art of understanding his subject: the ocean.
“I guess people feel the passion. In the art, in the waves. The backwashes, the beauty. Hundred and ten percent, 20 hours a day, that’s my preference.”
