When Steven Tyler and Aerosmith first rose to stardom, the band was completely enslaved to addiction. Tyler was never shy about admitting his self-destructive habits.
He has been clean and sober since the mid 80’s and has found a full and genuine existence. Tyler admits the decision to get help with his addiction saved his life, and probably the lives of those around him.
Since many still think of Tyler as a hard-rocking celebrity, churchgoers were stunned when he appeared and passionately belted “Amazing Grace’ with full sincerity.
The video is a throwback no doubt, but it’s amazing to see someone free from addiction express themselves in such a genuine way. We can all learn something from this rockstar.
