Even though “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin has been gone for over a decade, his legacy continues to live on in his loving family. Through their continued dedication to wildlife preservation, Steve’s wife Terri and children Bindi and Robert work on his behalf each and every day of their lives.

On April 26, 2018, Hollywood remembered Steve’s contributions to entertainment, and the world, when they unveiled a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Irwin family was in attendance to celebrate the event.

Before the special day, Australia Zoo tweeted this message from the Irwin family:
We are all gearing up for Steve’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Ceremony. …But it was Bindi’s speech at the Hollywood Walk of Fame that had everyone in tears.
“We try to continue Dad’s legacy each and every day, and we want to make sure that everything he lived and died for continues on into the future.”
Moved to tears herself, Bindi went on to say, “It’s just such a special day,” before turning to her mother for a hug.

Bindi has grown into such a cheerful, self-assured young woman. We know Steve would be so proud of her! Like many people who enjoyed Steve’s show, we feel like we’ve seen Bindi grow up before our very eyes. Seeing how mature and intelligent she is as an adult is a wonderful feeling.

Speaking on behalf of her whole family, Bindi goes on to emotionally explain, “I have to tell you that I never in my wildest dreams imagined that this would become a reality.”

What a perfect tribute to an admirable person. If we’re ever walking on Hollywood Boulevard, we will definitely take a pass by Steve’s star to pay our respects.
